What I love most about the kensington one is that I carry 4 multipurpose pieces with me in a bag: the battery pack (size of an iphone), a miniUSB cable (useful for all sorts of things), a USB->iPhone cable, and the wall wart (basically Outlet to USB power adapter). That way I can also charge off the wall using the same pieces that I would use to charge the battery. Mini USB cable is good for charging any device that charges over USB as well as transferring files and photos. Plus have non-proprietary (well other than Apple one) cables means even if I lose one, it’s just a few cents on monoprice to replace.

IMO, if you’re going to lug something around, try to go with something that has the most possible functionality. That said, I really want to try out the ZAGGsparq. If only it had a magsafe power adaptor for my Macbook… Shame it’s currently out of stock and nobody’s hocking them on eBay even.

Thanks for the addition, Ed. Still not sure if I want to go iPhone only, multi-device, or giant battery. Can see some upsides to each, but sure don’t want to lug around any more than needed.

I love my Kensington Battery pack and noticed it wasn’t on your list. It’s under $50 on Amazon, and I’m half tempted to get a second one.

I am eagerly awaiting (maybe) this possible gadget. I have seen articles featuring large men who are saying they will buy it no matter what it is – if only I had (or didn’t have) that kind of money to spend on something that may (or may not) change the world as we know it.

As for the specifications, the TARDIS functionality is really the only thing I care about. Corinthian leather is SO overrated these days as compared to some of the 1000 threadcount bamboo-based covers. Really – whomever came up with that idea needs to get out of their Mercedes S class and step into true comfort.

I’m hoping that they are completely scrapping any announcement of an iTablet ir iPhone or iWhatever and just announcing that there is a new and improved iTunes app for the iPhone that allows you to stream radio stations via a 3G connection. That would be something useful.

Thanks, Will – I appreciate that. I’ve never tried to be a leader, but do like to think I’ve helped do some cool stuff.

I think one of my big misses and education in the past year has been sharing my OWN view on all this. I let my blogging drift to zero, so I can’t rightly be much surprised when I suddenly find people didn’t know how I viewed my own groups, projects, and communities. The Gangplank reference is a good example of that. I tried to do something similar though not that concise with recent posts about Ignite. I still owe one on how to make it better, which I need to get to…
